Q-Park and CCV launch on-line credit card payments

Now it’s even easier to enter and leave Q-Park parking facilities

Arnhem, the Netherlands, 18 July 2011 – Over the coming months Q-Park will equip its parking facilities with the P Gateway solution developed in association with CCV. The solution enables consumers to pay in a simple way with numerous cards including MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Yellowbrick when driving in to and out of parking facilities. The P-Gateway solution guarantees secure transactions by reading magnetic strips on various cards according to stringent PCI rules.

This unique payment solution accepts credit cards of various acquirers and most leading suppliers of parking management systems have integrated it in their products. The P-Gateway application will be succeeded later on by a contactless variant.

“Introduction of European directives for electronic payments deprived Q-Park of an essential service that allowed its customers to drive in and out with a credit card”, said Michel Feddema, ICT Manager at Q-Park. “Discontinuing the functionality was not an option because Q-Park puts user convenience and quality first. To assure continuation of this service Q-Park developed this new solution in cooperation with CCV. The flexible and professional cooperation with CCV was crucial in developing this alternative.”

CCV is a European player in payment terminals, a transaction processing specialist and the market leader in the Netherlands. The company is highly satisfied with the good cooperation between Q-Park and CCV in creating the P Gateway solution. Managing Director Pascal Vincken said: “Close cooperation with Q-Park has resulted in an international solution that will promote convenient parking and secure payments. CCV already processes millions on payment transactions in the parking sector in on-street and off-street environments. We are very happy with this result of our many years of intensive cooperation.”
