About the solution
- Smart through apps: the CCV Mobile A920 is one of the first terminals to be equipped with an Android operating system and an app store
- Customised: The terminal or the entire terminal infrastructure can be individualised and specially adapted for the respective area of application via business apps (developed in-house, by third-party providers or directly by CCV).
- All-in-one: By using apps in conjunction with the smart A920 terminals, a complete POS infrastructure can be mapped in just one mobile device. By adding new apps, business transactions can be integrated quickly without having to make new hardware investments.
- Quick to use & flexible: The user interface of most apps is quickly explained and intuitive, just like on a smartphone. This means there is no need for training and staff can be quickly familiarised with the system.
Best practice
The Swiss company Avance Pay was one of the first companies to opt for the smart terminal CCV Mobile A920 and has integrated its own cash register programme as an app in the CCVStore and thus on the terminal. One of Avance Pay's main markets is festivals and events. Equipping them with a cashless payment solution poses several challenges:
Frequent staff changes, connection security of the mobile devices and the changing possibilities of use must be reconciled.
Why Avance Pay chose the CCV Mobile A920
"We chose the CCV Mobile A920 because it allowed us to combine and achieve two major goals. On the one hand, the POS system and the payment terminal are connected in this smart device, so that we were able to save a lot of resources both in terms of investment and logistics. On the other hand, we can serve several target groups by using apps. In our case, these are events and additionally the catering industry. For the integration of our cash register app, CCV provided APIs and a free loaner device and supported us with technical questions."

Like most companies from the leisure and event sector, Avance Pay also faced major challenges due to the Corona restrictions and the lockdowns. Especially against this backdrop, the use of smart and mobile terminals in conjunction with its own checkout app has given Avance Pay the advantage of being able to score points in the hospitality industry and especially in the delivery business, which has risen sharply.
Stable communication of the CCV Mobile A920 is important
"Stable communication is a prerequisite for all types of mobile service, whether it is a delivery service or an event on a greenfield site. The CCV Mobile A920 can be connected via 4G as well as via Wifi, which is an important argument for our customers."
Within the Avance Pay app, the interfaces to the receipt printer were also created.
Before an app is included in the "CCVStore" (CCV's own app store for business apps at the POS) and is available for download on the smart terminals, the app must pass a security check. In this way, CCV not only guarantees the usual high security standards, but also checks the smooth interaction between the app and the terminal so that the app can be used as desired by the customer.
