#WeCare

Our responsibility

CCV carries great responsibility as a financial institution. Economically, environmentally and socially. We operate in a transparent, ethical and trustworthy manner – without compromise. With our #WeCare programme, we continuously improve our performance in the area of Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

Our CSR objectives

By deeply embedding CSR in our day-to-day business processes, we aim to improve our company, our people, and the world around us as much as we can. We have set clear goals and measurable objectives in the following five areas and report on each of those in our annual CSR report:

1. Social responsibility – #WeCare about our people
Building a socially resilient and sustainable CCV by committing to human capital development, inclusion and equity.

2. Corporate citizenship – #WeCare about our role in the community
Being an active member of the society and supporting the advancement towards the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by engaging in strategic partnerships.

3. Environmental sustainability – #WeCare about our footprint
Reducing CCV’s environmental footprint, by adopting and streamlining environmental principles across our business operations and business offer.

4. Responsible value chain – #WeCare about our global impact
Strengthening CCV’s sustainable supply chain management system by adopting environmental and ethical principles in company procurement and due diligence processes.

5. Governance – #WeCare about doing ethical business
Strengthening internal processes aimed at supporting CCV’s ethical management, business model and sustainability governance.

Guiding principles

We want to become part of the movement of responsible businesses, while guided by international agendas and existing CSR frameworks. The following guiding principles of our #WeCare's CSR Charter are meant to help us achieve our ambitious goals:

Inspired by international thought leadership

We are committed to contributing to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals and to aligning our business to the 10 principles of the UN Global Compact. While being transparently assessed by EcoVadis, we aim to adhere to the Global Reporting Initiative and strengthen our CSR reporting and disclosure processes.

Integrated in our daily business processes

#WeCare within every level of our organisation. This means all of our employees have ownership of their department’s CSR goals. For our Procurement department, for example, this means CSR is an integrated part of the due diligence and evaluation when choosing suppliers. Throughout, we repair, recycle, and limit waste wherever we are able to.

Anchored in the current context

Industry trends and standards and a comprehensive internal sustainability audit have been the building blocks of CCV #WeCare. Our strengths, weaknesses and aspirations have inspired our current CSR programme after a group-wide consultation process with numerous internal and external stakeholders.

Implemented as a systematic company-wide journey

The #WeCare programme enables us to look at all areas of our business. This matters because we aim to align each of our core processes with the principles of sustainable business, thus improving our business as a whole.

Action- and learning-oriented

With #WeCare, CCV takes the next step towards a more professional CSR strategy that will be closely monitored. We will take with us all learnings and use them as an opportunity to keep improving our programme and make our CSR vision reality as we grow.

Created in a participatory environment

At CCV, we value the importance of providing avenues for consultation, engagement and participation. That’s why #WeCare was built on rounds of close stakeholder consultations. Moving on, we will continue to listen to the needs and the views of everyone involved and affected by our business.

Built on CCV’s values

#WeCare was built with CCV’s core values and company principles in mind. This way, our CSR strategy becomes an integrated part of our DNA. We are committed to honouring our legacy and improving ourselves for years to come.

Annual CSR report

As a reliable provider of payment solutions, we care a great deal about transparency. Our annual CSR report (coming soon) reflects what we accomplish, year by year, and where we still aim to improve.

EcoVadis status

EcoVadis is the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, creating a global network of more than 90,000+ rated companies. CCV is one of those. We partner with EcoVadis to collaborate on sustainability with a common platform, universal scorecard, benchmarks and performance improvement tools.

Code of conduct

With payment solutions as our core business, we have many rules and regulations to follow without fail. This makes compliance and risk management our main corporate responsibility. In addition, we put great emphasis on social and ecological aspects, business integrity, transparent economic performance, fair procurement practices and competition, anti-corruption and responsible location policies.

We strive to maintain relationships only with reputable business partners who are willing to respect the principles of CCV’s Code of Conduct and comply with country specific laws.

Whistle blower system

Our reputation as a reliable, fair and respectful company is critical to our success. That is why we encourage you to raise a concern if you suspect any unlawful, unethical or otherwise inappropriate behaviour involving CCV that may result in a serious breach of applicable laws and regulations – both national and European laws – our Code of Conduct or internal policies and procedures.
